The Community Manager role is a front facing, operational position. As a Community Manager, your responsibility is to receive members and guests into our space, making them feel welcomed, connected, and armed with the resources they will need to make the change they wish to see. The Community Manager provides excellent customer service and creates an environment that allows for collaboration, engagement and productivity. The Community Manager ensures members receive the utmost value from their experience at Urban Co-Lab.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct outreach to potential new members, offering tours and pitching them on the benefits of joining the Urban Co-Lab community
Respond to inquiries from members and troubleshoot any problems they may experience
Follow up by email on any new contacts, copying the management team.
Develop signature programs and benefits focused on building a sense of community for Urban Co-Lab members. Examples include:
- Managing the monthly Office Hours series
- Establishing a members’ Skee Ball team at Full Circle
- Hosting “pop-up” co-working at local bars and coffee shops
- Identifying and managing member benefits (free or reduced price yoga, massages, local food vendor discounts, etc.)
- Working with members to develop Urban Co-Lab sponsored events
Supervise the work of the AmeriCorps Vista and Community Ambassadors, providing constructive feedback and support as needed to help them shape and achieve their deliverables.
Attend weekly meetings with Urban Co-Lab’s senior management team
Monitor supply needs for the space; order new supplies within the budget allocated
In collaboration with the rest of the team, develop content for Urban Co-Lab’s weekly newsletter
Assist with managing Urban Co-Lab’s social media: post relevant content to twitter, facebook, and instagram.
HOURS & COMPENSATION
Monthly contract compensation based on experience
Commission opportunity of up to 10% for any new dedicated desk/full-time memberships or paid events of at least $200.
An unlimited coworking membership (access to our building Mon - Sat 8am-8pm, valued at $225/month);
Curated, thoughtful introductions to the movers and shakers in the Austin social enterprise community when requested;
Following completion of session, references from core team members to put on your resume going forward;
Opportunity to help establish East Austin as the epicenter of social innovation.
